Ameli and Paul first began to share their unique perspectives on creating music back in 2016, a chance meeting marking the start of an electronic duo now stood atop five years of development. Giving their project the title of Ameli Paul, the pair has been working to balance the complimentary spheres of vocal harmony and experimental downtempo vibes. During that time, Ameli Paul have made various appearances on stage, evolving a live performance which has taken them around both the club and festival circuit.

The deeper electronic elements that build up the environments of this project are generally the work of Paul, whose use of synthesizers and field recordings encircles Ameli’s impactful vocal talents with a more intangible level of sound.

The duo has recently dropped their debut EP, through up-and-coming label MEIOSIS.  Comprised of two original tracks and a remix, the release explores moods both emotive and cinematic. Heading the collection is ‘Open Fire’, a track which ventures deep into electronic possibilities, drawing on synth melody and organic house beats to create an open-ended space. Eponymous follow up track ‘Beyond Reason’ leans into the pure quality of Ameli’s voice, contrasting it with the tension of muted electronica and leaving the listener adrift.

Amoa floats vocals upon idm, in solo album ‘You’

Combining organic beauty with impactful electronic beats, Amoa’s debut collection evokes tranquillity and far horizons

Since 2019 Swiss singer and composer Andrea Thoma has been releasing a trail of singles under the name of Amoa, creating soft chillwave laced with idm electronica. Her discography so far hums with warm vocals, and an appreciation for how subtle organic samples can elevate the quality of flowing synth.

Now Amoa steps towards a more focused route, as she draws those singles together and releases a fresh wave of work to release her debut album ‘You’. Into her sound falls production support from Roland Vollenweider and Jonathan Nage, as well as guitar from Simon Boss.

The electronic aspect in Amoa’s work is more present than might be expected of a project able to deliver so strongly from a vocal standpoint. There’s the smooth atmospheric vibe of chillwave but also the heavier pulse of glitch. Space is left for Amoa’s impressive voice but other samples move in between the synthetic soundscape to add to the organic quality of the tracks.

‘You’ was recently released on the Radicalis label, and achieves a balance of synthetic power and delicate harmony. Each individual track forms a small oasis, carrying peaceful melodies which float skywards to form an ethereal canopy.

Radiating warmth and melody, Murge presents ‘Alone Together’

Murge’s new single moves bodies and emotions, as he renews a connection with vocalist Sierra Lundy

Producer Murge has put time and effort into the live DJing scene, both internationally and in his home country of Canada. The house music he creates is the consolidation of influences from a multitude of sources, embracing Latin jazz rhythm and cosmic electronica, allowing dancefloor beats to co-exist with ambience and field recording.

In the past few years Murge has begun to establish a discography beyond his live shows with the support of Loci Records, label of iconic US producer and DJ Emancipator. His sound has won him acclaim from his contemporaries, and led him to preform alongside artists like Bonobo, De La Soul and the Wu Tang Clan.

A significant connection made by Murge in recent years is that with the vocalist Sierra Lundy, part of the talent behind Pacific Ocean duo ‘Ocie Elliott’. The two have collaborated in the past to create tracks which overlap electronica and organic harmonies, furnishing Murge’s sound with a new, hauntingly beautiful dimension.

‘Can’t Hurt Me Now’ on March’s ‘Here We Are’ album is an example of the melodic balance the two are able to achieve, and newly released single ‘Alone Together’ returns to that unique downtempo environment, rich with emotion but drifting from reality.

Peace, beauty, unity: Keno and Tristan De Liège release Transatlantyk

The chance encounter and balance of skills behind Keno and Tristan De Liège’s new EP

Neo classical producer David Hanke (also known as Keno) first met Tristan de Liège over the internet back in 2018, quickly forging a connection through their shared interests in music. Despite never having met in person, the two have been creating instrumental hip-hop, downtempo and gorgeously rich cinematic styled music since they composed their first track together and found the desire to move further as collaborators.

The pair’s October 2nd release ‘Transatlantyk’ is proof of their natural artistic relationship, regardless of international distance. Among the twelve tracks are inclusions which invigorate, sooth, and envelop the listener. The percussion and classical influence gives a raw power, which serves to vitalise the progressive drum beats and sampling.

On a small selection of tracks, vocalist Elodie Rama has imbibed the sound with a further level of smooth as honey harmonies. These tracks present a few perfect moments where three uniquely talented musicians have come together, joined by chance and a love of music.

Our featured track ‘Dancing in the Dark’ radiates warmth through vocals and downtempo tones which melt through the cold isolation and oncoming winter. It’s a collaboration which may never have happened if not for the limitations and pressures of this year, as we look online to keep social relationships alive.

Golan uncovers the unconscious mind, with ‘Anima’

Download/Stream - Anima: https://GolanOfficial.lnk.to/Anima https://GolanOfficial.lnk.to/ThisIsGolan Produced by Golan Follow Golan: Website: https://www.gol...

Golan began formation back in 2014, the result of a chance meeting between future members in Havana. Six years down the line and the group has reached five members, without sacrificing integrity of their production or cutting down on risk and creativity. At this point Golan is practically a community of sound, with connections spreading to the event organisers and labels they’ve worked with.

Any attempt at a full summary of Golan’s sound would lack detail, but key elements include classical influence, vibes of electro-pop, minimal and vocal sampling. Regardless, their group size means no shortage of experience or talent, and if that simultaneously leads to instances of artistic conflict in the creative process, it certainly doesn’t appear in the final product.

Despite rapidly making waves, and even receiving Sunete magazine’s ‘Best Electro’ award the same year the band was established, Golan has taken their development at steady pace. Their first EP came in 2016, and it wasn’t until a year later that their first LP ‘Intro’ was released.

It follows that the upcoming 2nd album is highly anticipated, the first track of which will be made public on April 24th; ‘Anima’ is song that looks inward to inescapable thoughts, lifted by vocals which drift between subtle beats.

Indie Electronica from Hamburg's Lukas Oppenheimer

Lukas Oppenheimer is a musician originally from Hamburg, Germany currently studying computer science and making music on the side in Berlin. Growing up with an American mother and German father gave Lukas a unique cultural perspective from a very young age. Whether it be his open-minded approach to music or travel, his family upbringing exposed him to both European and American walks of life.

Throughout his youth, Lukas always enjoyed playing instruments and experimenting with music. Whether it was bass, guitar, drums or old synths, Oppenheimer naturally took to being creative with sound. But it wasn't until he was 11 and got a copy of FL Studio that he began down the path of an electronic music producer.

Starting out making unconventional music and sound experiments, it was more the process of creating than the result that intrigued Lukas. To this day he carries that same kind of curiosity and creative energy, often incorporating new outboard gear and workflow into his production setup.

'Never Thought' certainly contains this creative spirit and unique, inquisitive approach.  The track is a 6 minute sonic adventure, progressing through experimental atmospheres, deep rhythms and emotional keys.
