Like a boombox about to blow and take over your entire city, ‘Rumble Around’ starts off with high vibrations and carries a buzzing energy from start to finish. Seasoned producers Nphonix (Fedor Stepanenko) and Matrika (Alexy Egorchenkov aka Enei) join forces to sketch up a melting pot of breakneck beats and glitched out fx glued together by that classic MPC swing. The track takes on a life of its own with animations from motion graphics designer Ben Marlowe where a monolithic soundsystem takes over a black & white city with waves of sound and technicolor psychedelia. This track is available as a single from Belgian imprint R&S Records.

Peruvian composer Sergio Díaz De Rojas shares new single ‘Canción para Otto y Elsa’ (Song for Otto and Elsa) from his upcoming album Muerte en una tarde de verano (Death in a Summer’s Afternoon) set for release on March 10th via Nettwerk Music. Diving into the story behind the name, Sergio was raised in a family of talented musicians and took great inspiration from his grandfather Otto and his great Aunt Elsa. While Otto only got to see Sergio play the piano once, during a classical recital when he was twelve years old, Elsa largely guided the young pianists development and musical education until the day he left Peru. The music video, directed by Tiago Almança and starring Miriam Serrano, encapsulates the melancholic sound completely featuring long takes and slow movements to weave a deeply personal atmosphere.

SOUNDMILL improvisations is sonic material that was a part of SOUNDMILL - a multi-channel sound and light installation Lisa Conway (L CON) mounted in an old mill ruin in Guelph, Ontario, in the fall of 2021. Taking environmental inspirations from the old mill itself, Lisa replicated repetitive patterns of the milling process into the music to create a kind of historical sonic snapshot steeped in time and space. Sparsely arpeggiated synths interwoven within distinct melodies fill the stereo field while the functional nature of the track lends itself to a kind of utilitarianism informing the overall arrangement. Listen closely and one can hear digital drops of grain being pounded by a kick drum like pestle. The visuals, created with an analog video synth by Emma Ongman, perfectly compliment the warm tones and woven nature of the sonic expression.
