Catching Flies is an artist whose work has drawn the attention of both crowds and critics, receiving praise from major industry players such as Annie Mac and Gilles Peterson. His music gives form to sensations of warmth and majesty, touching on an array of genres including jazz, soul and trip-hop. Catching Flies reputation advanced through live performance alongside acts including Little Dragon and Four Tet. Naturally, expectations were high for his first album ‘Silver Linings’ which finally debuted in early 2019.
Released to positive reception, ‘Silver Linings’ also attracted efforts from other artists to influence and reimagine each of the tracks contained on the LP. Now almost a year on, Catching Flies has collected and arranged exceptional new versions of his original work, announcing ‘Silver Linings Remixed’.
The 14 track EP includes contributions from various creators including DJ Seinfeld and Soundbwoy Killah, each of whom has managed to create something new while retaining the soul each track was first built around.
Our featured remix comes from German duo Andhim; hip-hop induced, sample incorporating, self-styled purveyors of ‘Super House’. The pair has transmuted the downtempo and subtly beautiful ‘Opals’ into a deep house track, resetting the soft mellow melodies into a warped reflection.
