Barda brings forth a sound forged in the new waves of music spreading from South America. The music that Argentinian Cecilia Gebhard breathes life into has been affected by traditional percussion, dub bass, nu-folk and a Latin soul on its journey to the present day, with other influences obviously present.

The debut LP ‘Gruta’ dropped back in 2015 through the Fertil Discos music platform, and the trip from there has taken this artist between different labels and ideas. It’s an artistic history absolutely worth digging into if you can pick up the trail, with standout folklore led tracks from the three track ‘Botanas: Barda’, funk so natural it feels plucked from the earth in the Lembrança album and percussion which cleans the soul throughout her discography.

Back to the present, and Barda has been welcomed into Onda Mundial, an online platform fostering the growing community of Latin electronic artists and strengthening ties between creators. Through Onda Mundial, Barda has released ‘Paseo Telúrico’ a four track collection made public at the end of February and carrying a vibe of Cumbia dance music and organic groove.

Eponymous lead track Paseo Telúrico lays out a relationship between nature and machine, given character with a mix of cultural themes.
