High tension techno, with Dispak: Zeldinova

Dispak first got in touch with us back in late 2018, around the time they were releasing their first EP. Dispak 1 featured some thick reverb and vibrant techno that drew character from the vintage equipment at play, including the Juno-106 and TB-303. Almost a year down the line, Dispak are back to drop their second EP, scheduled for the auspicious date of 2/20/2020.

This dynamic partnership is the project of Kasson Crooker and Chris Child, each bringing something different to the studio.

Crooker’s discography involves a history with the game industry, with a key connection to Harmony Games, creator of Rock Band and Guitar Hero. His solo venture ‘Symbion Project’ remains active, the latest release being his tenth album, ‘Backscatter’. Chris Child also has ties with video game work, and his compositions for TV have earned him an Emmy Award. His own solo work continues alongside Dispak, and more recently took a turn into experimentation with piano forms.

Sparks fly with the collaboration of these two individually skilled artists. Our introduction to the new EP is a track titled Zeldinova, featuring a decisive techno beat galvanized by the 1969 Moog Modular Synth which stimulates an old-school core, sharpened with staccato pulsations.
