Mary-Ann Kiefer finishes a triumphant EP with ‘Fuserrrr’

A tense ride on the back of a unicorn through eclectic soundscapes straight into the eye of a cotton candy tornado.

With their new EP ‘The Space. The Trance. The Future.’ Mary-Ann Kiefer have made an impactful return

Over the past few years, Vienna’s post-punk electronica trio Mary-Ann Kiefer appeared to be slowing down, and beginning to drift away from regular production. Their last major release had been 2012’s ‘dits&dots’ album, an clash of experimental sonic sounds which seemed like the final collection Mary-Ann Kiefer would release.

Things began to heat back up at the beginning of January with ‘In Salt Me’, a single which drew out mounting pressure and an energy which reassured listeners that the group had not been idle. Soon after, a short but curious teaser track appeared for a brand new EP: ‘The Space. The Trance. The Future.’

The last of the three tracks from ‘The Space. The Trance. The Future.’ has finally been made public, finalising what has been an explosive return to form for the trio. The production processes has been intense, leaving us with around 20 minutes of varied and vibrant music, creating paths into math rock, hypnotic electronica and noiserock. The ambitious approach of Mary-Ann Kiefer has even spread to the hallucination-like artwork and the crowd collaborative music video which aims to involve 60 contributors.

‘Fuserrrr’ completes the EP; an extended journey where the trio seize control and demonstrate what they’re capable of.
