Mort.domed takes acid techno to the next level

The US-based producer’s latest release builds on the rhythmic momentum of his previous EP’s

Mort.domed is an up-and-coming music producer based in the Western part of the United States who just released an EP, ‘Western Acid.’ Having performed in venues from Denver to Austin—as indicated by the title of his release—Mort.domed’s singular sound features inspirations from acid, breaks, peak time, and techno which define his EP as high production and even higher intensity. He is a member of Lo Amo as well as the Foreign Roots Collective and previously founded DroFunDigs.

He released his first EP last year, fittingly called ‘Titled,’ which featured his two debut tracks, plus a collaboration with Filip Szostak. Following that, he also released ‘Tilted’ featuring Aleksandr Shuniborov Thcmix, and then released the EP ‘Two’s Reubked,’ This year, prior to ‘Western Acid,’ Mort.domed released ‘Morters’ and the single ‘MBMVMNT18082020.’ Mort.domed was also featured on R Frederick and Guti Legatto’s Raving in Barna and Mr. Frick’s ‘Planet Euphoria’ this year, as well as the multi-artist album Dusty Plates Vol 1 in 2020.

Inspired by European and Post-Soviet techno, ‘Western Acid’ brings Mort.domed’s energy and variety to dance music with a wildly fast-paced bass and vigorous beat. The EP features six tracks, each of which maintains a remarkable pace and rhythm with varying undertones, half beats, and sonic references. The evolution of the beat in each track, like ‘Borderline Begging,’ ignites the potential for collective effervescence on the dancefloor, with synths, drops and climactic build-ups.
